Backstreet Boys celebrate 25 years of being a boy band with adorable flashback photo

Backstreet’s back! Well, technically, they never left.

The Backstreet Boys took to Twitter on Friday to celebrate a very special anniversary for the boy band – 25 years!

“On April 20th, 1993 we became the Backstreet Boys,” the group captioned an adorable throwback photo. “If you would have told us that 25 years later we would still be making music together, we would have never believed you. Thank you #BSBArmy Who’s ready for another 25 years? #KTBSPA#BSB25.”

The group, which is comprised of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson and AJ McLean, have been nominated for seven GRAMMY Awards, and have sold more than 130 million records worldwide since becoming a boy band all those years ago. Not to mention, they are the only boy band to have nine of their albums make it into the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts.

BSB's biggest hits include “I Want It That Way,” “As Long as You Love Me,” “Larger Than Life,” “Everybody,” “Quit Playing Games With My Heart” and “The Call.”

Though the group has taken several brief hiatuses, they have never officially split. Kevin left the band in 2006, after which they released two albums without him. But in 2012, he returned fulltime.

In March 2017, the Backstreet Boys started their Las Vegas residency show, Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life, which is currently set to run through this November.

In addition to working with the group, the members have also had their own solo endeavors. AJ recently opened up to ET about his foray into the country music scene.

“I want to come in and I want to disrupt country. I want to shift,” he explained. “I want to shake things up just like [Florida Georgia Line] did. So, you guys are in for a treat."
