ATV to begin recruiting contestants for Miss Asia 2018

19 Jun – After much anticipation, the Asia Television network (ATV) recently announced that it will be holding the ATV Miss Asia Pageant again this year.

As reported on Mingpao, Chief Content Officer Ho Lai Chuen announced that the station will begin recruiting beauties to be the representatives of Hong Kong, as well as contestants from other Asian countries and Greater China.

The finals will be held at the end of November, although the location is yet to be determined.

"The Miss Asia pageant is the company's biggest project this year. We are confident that it will attract a lot of advertisers and bring in more profit," he said.

As for the terms and conditions, Ho stated that it is similar to other pageants, including the age limit.

The last Miss Asia to be crowned was Max Zhang of China, who won the title in 2014. The pageant ceased to exist when Hong Kong's Executive Council announced the expiry of ATV's broadcast license in 2015 and its subsequent shutdown the following year.
