The inaugural Asia Game Festival (AGF) to be held in Singapore on 9 and 10 June this year will offer gamers a multifaceted experience, with the programme including e-sports, cosplay and anime music concerts.

Set to be held at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, other event highlights include community gaming and gaming-related talks.

The AGF will host the largest number of e-sport competitions in Asia. These include the inaugural Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) Championship-PUBG – featuring PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – with players from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines battling it out for the regional title.

Another competition is the Singapore national qualifier finals for Hyperplay, the first Asean League of Legends competition and music festival.

This year’s Campus Game Fest, organised by the Singapore CyberSports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) and Institute of Technical Education, will also be held as part of the AGF.

Celebrity gamers Treephob “Xyclopz” Tiangtrong from Thailand and Tiffani “Babyoling” Lim from Malaysia will feature at the festival, along with renowned cosplayers Aza Miyuko from South Korea and Yuegene Fay from Thailand.

There will also be J-pop concerts on both nights featuring artistes such as BACK-ON, bless4 and ASAKA.

“The rapid rise of gaming and e-sports in the South-east Asia region, placing it as the No. 1 market in the world, is the catalyst for organising AGF,” said festival chairman Anthony Kang, chief executive officer of organiser Magika. “Singapore, as the central hub for the region, makes it the ideal location to stage the inaugural festival.”

Ticket sales for the AGF will begin on Friday (20 April).

AGF is organised by content marketing firm Magika in partnership with SCOGA and CPL. Yahoo is the media partner for the event.
