Ashraf Sinclair's last movie to be released on Disney+ Hotstar
5 May - It was revealed that "J2: J Retribusi", the last movie filmed by Ashraf Sinclair prior to his death, will be a part of the local line-up for Disney+ Hotstar.
The movie, co-directed by Nazrul Asraff Mahzan and Nazim Shah, will see the continuation of the first film, "J Revolusi" that revolves around Jay Zulkarnain, an assault leader for Malaysia's Unit Tindakan Khas (Special Forces Unit).
While Ashraf was not a part of the first movie, he was cast in the second film as a character named Taufik, though not many details have been released about it.
The upcoming movie will see Zul Ariffin reprising his role as Jay, who has to race against time to save his boss Dato' Hashim and his daughter Nadi against a hostile hostage situation.
Other cast members include Amelia Henderson, Rosyam Nor, Norman Hakim, Eric Chen and Chen Yiming.
Disney+ Hotstar will be launched on 1 June with a monthly fee of RM54.90 for the first three months.
Ashraf Sinclair passed away on 18 February 2020 at a hospital in Jakarta after experiencing a heart attack. He was survived by wife Bunga Citra Lestari and son Noah Aidan.
