Ashley Graham and husband Justin Ervin wanted to name their son Isaac because they wanted a happy baby.
The 32-year-old gushed about motherhood during a recent appearance on U.S. TV show Today, admitting: “I am in heaven. I love being a momma. He is so cute and so sweet and so happy."
Ashley, who welcomed Isaac in January, went on to explain: “When my husband and I were naming him, Isaac means laughter, and we just really wanted a happy, laughing baby — and sure enough we got him.
“The biggest blessing out of all of this is that I get to spend this time with him that I never would have been able to carve out for myself,” she added of spending time in isolation with her family amid the pandemic.
“The best parts are when he just looks at you and knows that it’s you, mamma, and he smiles. It’s just the best," Ashley mused, noting that husband Justin is hands on with Isaac. “Justin’s been really enjoying it too. He’s just such a great dad."
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model also revealed that having a baby, mixed with a global pandemic, has made celebrating her 10-year anniversary difficult.
“First of all, what do you do for 10 years? Then throw a baby in the mix and that I’m breastfeeding and you can’t really travel to a beautiful location on the other side of the world, so it’s like, we’ll probably go find some sushi,” Ashley laughed.
The former America's Next Top Model judge has been praised by fans for candidly documenting her journey as a new mum online, speaking about changes to her body, and the difficulties of parenting.
