This artist’s Infinity Rooms are completely tripping us out

The world of art can be an incredibly beautiful place in its total insanity. “Infinity Mirrors,” the newest exhibit by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, is leaving visitors speechless. The artwork, now showing at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., features a total of six mirrored rooms — each one more awe inspiring than the last. The 88-year-old artist has been creating exhibits such as this one since the 1960’s and shows no signs of stopping soon.

It’s no surprise that her creative flair for Infinity Rooms is an inspiration to us all.

Kusama’s first mirrored room, “Phalli’s Field,” debuted in New York in 1965. Consisting of namely red-on-white polka-dot fabric, the work was a major help in establishing her notoriety as an artist.

These Infinity rooms are so beautiful, they’re breath-taking.

Perhaps the most attention grabbing exhibit is “The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away.”

It looks like a galaxy! How cool is that?

The museum has drawn a record 95,000 visitors since the show’s opening date on February 23rd. And, because of the high volume of visitors, don’t expect to hang around the exhibit. Sources cited an estimated 20-30 seconds per groups of three. Talk about a quick selfie! Maybe go twice, once just for the experience, and once for cool photos!
