Armie Hammer has been dropped by his talent agency, the industry giant WME, according to reports.

THR writes that the Social Network star has also been dropped by his personal publicist, following allegations of abuse from former partners.

Hammer recently dropped out of forthcoming Jennifer Lopez rom-com Shotgun Wedding, and also The Offer, an upcoming miniseries about the making of The Godfather.

It comes in the wake of lurid claims that he sent messages involving cannibalistic fantasies to ex-girlfriend Courtney Vucekovich during a relationship they had last year.

Vucekovich said that she had to pursue therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder following their time together, alleging that Hammer was abusive and manipulative.

Hammer said in a statement: “I'm not responding to these b******t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.”

However, since the allegations, another girlfriend, Paige Lorenze, came forward claiming that he had carved the letter 'A' into her skin, and that other encounters with the actor left her with bruises.

She told the Daily Mail: “‘He told me there’s a whole community that will do this stuff, that it was not criminal.

“He really thought that his fantasies were normal behavior in the BDSM, non-normative, sexual kink community. I thought that this is what it was. I thought I was safe.

“But any man who is fantasizing about crushing bones, eating them, having sex with female limp bodies is a danger to all women.”

Addressing the accusations, a statement from Hammer's lawyers read: “These assertions about Mr. Hammer are patently untrue. Any interactions with this person, or any partner of his, were completely consensual in that they were fully discussed, agreed upon, and mutually participatory.”

Hammer shot to fame playing the dual role of the Winklevoss brothers in David Fincher's The Social Network, and then in movies like The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Lone Ranger.

Most recently, he gain critical plaudits for his role in Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name.
