To celebrate International Yoga Day, Apple Watch users will be able to earn a limited edition award and stickers for Messages simply by recording a yoga workout of 20 minutes or more today, 21 June. This limited edition award will only be available on International Day of Yoga, so make sure you get your yoga workout in!
To view your awards, open the Activity app on your Apple Watch, swipe left to the Awards screen, and tap an award. You can also do this in the Activity app on your iPhone: tap the Awards tab, then tap an award.
The Workout app has been updated to provide richer metrics for measuring performance and new training experiences to help users reach fitness goals. The familiar in-session display now uses the Digital Crown to rotate between easy-to-read Workout Views so that users can see essential metrics for different training styles.
Heart Rate Zones, which can be manually created or automatically calculated using personalised Health data, can be used to monitor the intensity of a workout. Interval training is an important part of any training plan, and with watchOS 9, the Workout app introduces Custom Workouts, which can create a structured workout that includes work and rest intervals. In addition, new alerts, including pace, power, heart rate, and cadence, can be added to guide users throughout the workout.
