Sorry folks, but Disney does not support your side hustle. According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland is revoking annual passes of "personal shoppers" who buy and resell the park's merchandise.

The move is aimed to curb the growing number of people who run a resell business by creating a fair opportunity for guests to purchase products they want while enforcing rules for annual passholders.

The craze for collectors' items has created a vast market for Disney items, particularly limited-edition releases. The market ranges from small-time personal shoppers who are paid to buy specific items for individuals to people who buy mass quantities of items to resell on sites like eBay. In addition to park admission, annual pass holders receive discounts on select park items-usually between 10 and 20% off depending on the plan-making it easier for them to get in on the goods.

Annual-pass holders interviewed for The Register's story claimed that their accounts were cancelled in connection with their side businesses. One annual pass holder and personal shopper, Samantha Cudnohufsky, claims to have received a letter from Disney informing her that her Disneyland Pass had been revoked for one year; the letter also claims that she still has to pay monthly dues of $71.

Shaun McClure, owner of a small personal shopping business and another annual pass-holder interviewed in the story, claims he received no notification from Disney and only realized his family's passes were cancelled when he went on his Disneyland app and saw that they were blocked. Upon calling the number on the back of his pass, he was informed that his passes were blocked because his account had been linked to a social media page selling Disney merchandise.

Annual Passport terms and conditions state "benefits and discounts are for personal use only and may not be used for any commercial purpose including, without limitation, to obtain or purchase items or services with the intent to resell such items or services."

Disney spokesperson Liz Jaeger shared with House Beautiful that, "Park Rules and Annual Pass Terms and Conditions are in place to help protect the experience for all of our guests."

We'll update this story if any new details emerge but, in the meantime, if you want to use your passes to visit Disney this holiday season, you may want to keep your purchases strictly personal.
