Video game studio CD Projekt Red has recently revealed the eclectic artists who will contribute to the soundtrack for the highly-anticipated "Cyberpunk 2077."
Among them are chart-toppers such as A$AP Rocky, Grimes, Run the Jewels, Gazelle Twin, Ilan Rubin, Richard Devine and Nina Kraviz.
Deadly Hunta, Rat Boy and Tina Guo have also penned new songs for the soundtrack of the forthcoming video game, in which each contributing artist will get their own fictional character/band.
Refused will also take part in the project with "Never Fade Away" and "Chippin' In," which the Swedish punk rock band released under the moniker Samurai.
The group's lead singer, Johnny Silverhand, will notably be voiced in "Cyberpunk 2077" by actor Keanu Reeves.
Earlier this month, Grimes debuted her contribution to the game, "4ÆM," live at the 2019 Game Awards, which were held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The Canadian vocalist, who will appear in "Cyberpunk 2077" as pop star Lizzy Wizzy, opened up about the inspiration behind "4ÆM."
"I think that my music fits with Night City because both are scary and pretty at the same time," she said in a recently-released "behind-the-scenes" video announcing the game's soundtrack.
As the Video Game Chronicle noted, "Cyberpunk 2077" has been teased by CD Projekt Red's story director, Marcin Blacha, as "a story about heroes in opposition to the world, and that world itself is one of the heroes as well."
The sci-fi video game particularly revolves around V, "a cyber-enhanced mercenary outlaw going after the key to immortality" in Night City, which is renowned as the "most dangerous megacity of the future."
"Cyberpunk 2077" is slated for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020, with pre-orders already available.
