Anna Wintour is a big fan of Blake Lively’s signature aesthetic.
The fashion journalist, who has served as editor-in-chief of U.S. Vogue since 1988, is one of the most important figures in the industry.
But while Wintour rarely comments on celebrity style, in an interview for her Go Ask Anna video series, she singled out the Gossip Girl actress and Met Gala regular as someone who always has fun with her outfits.
“I love Blake’s style because she’s very true to who she is,” she smiled of the 32-year-old. “She loves fashion, she adores fashion. She never works with a stylist, she always looks like she’s having a good time. She likes a bright colour, something sparkly, something a little bit sexy, a high heel, a great pantsuit. And of course, she has amazing, amazing hair.”
When asked if someone should start to change their style after they turn 30, the editor insisted: “Absolutely not.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Wintour was asked about the music and theatre releases she is looking forward to in 2020, and she admitted that she has a long list.
“I’m looking forward to hearing Rihanna’s album. I’m looking forward to hearing Adele’s album. I am very much looking forward to The Lehman Trilogy (play) returning,” the 70-year-old noted. “I am looking forward to Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband (Matthew Broderick) coming back to Broadway (in Plaza Suite). I’m looking forward to Hugh Jackman and The Music Man coming back, and I’m hoping that James Corden will come back to Broadway in (the musical) A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
