Anna Faris Faces Hefty Fine After Dog Found on the Street

Anna Faris is getting dogged with drama ahead of Thanksgiving.

The actress reportedly owes $5,000 to an animal shelter in Los Angeles after supposedly violating a signed adoption agreement. Faris, 39, rescued a chihuahua four years ago and the dog was recently allegedly found homeless and emaciated on the streets.

Laurel Kinder, the owner of Kinder4Rescue where Faris got her pup Pete, told TMZ that he was found and turned into a vet on Friday. Faris’s name came up when a microchip was scanned. According to Kinder, the Mom star signed a contract during the adoption that stated she would pay a fine if she turned Pete over to a new owner.

“Calling Anna Faris house bunny The puppy you adopted from us years ago was found starving n the street someone brought it into a vet scanned the microchip, we’ve been calling you for days no return call did you read your contract about giving our dogs away and the $5000 fine,” Kinder supposedly wrote in a Facebook post along with a photo of Anna and Pete. “If you were panicking looking for your lost dog you certainly would’ve contacted us or the microchip company. I’m not quite sure what you’re guilty of that this dog ended up in this condition, you signed a four page contract how does this dog end up on the street Anna, being a celebrity does not excuse you from following the rules or respecting the rescue you adopted the dog from, or abiding by the contract. This is why people are not allowed to give Kinder4rescue dogs away they have adopted from us because they become disposable get passed around and end up on the street like this. DNA Anna Faris.”

Anna and husband Chris Pratt were in the actress’s hometown of Seattle this weekend as they were spotted at the Seahawks football game. A rep for Farris tells People that “Anna is thrilled that the dog has been found, and is ensuring all necessary arrangements are made to bring the dog home.”

Per TMZ, Faris and Pratt found Pete a “nice family home,” but it’s unclear whether that arrangement was temporary or permanent. It’s also unclear what exactly happened before Pete was found.

As of now, Kinder has allegedly put Anna on its “do-not-adopt” list and the actress will have to prove she’s been actively looking for Pete to get out of the fine. Apparently Kinder is considering suing for breach of contract.
