'Anime X Stamps' exhibition to open at Singapore Philatelic Museum
To celebrate 100 years of Japanese anime, the Singapore Philatelic Museum (SPM), a museum about stamps and the postal history of Singapore, is opening a new anime-themed exhibition, “Anime X Stamps”.
Running from 16 November 2017 to April 2018, the exhibition will include stamps and collectibles from Japan and Singapore, featuring popular anime titles such as “Dragon Ball”, “Astro Boy” and “Mazinger Z”, as well as more recent series such as “Naruto”, “Attack on Titan” and “One Piece”.
Highlights of the exhibition include rare original production artwork from “Naruto” and “My Neighbour Totoro”, limited edition figurines and costumes from “Dragon Ball” and “Mazinger Z”, and a collection of over 700 stamps from about 80 different titles.
The Singapore Philatelic Museum is located at 23-B Coleman Street, and is open daily from 10am to 7pm. Admission is free for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents, admission charges apply for tourists ($8 for adults and $6 for children aged three to 12 years old).
