Netflix Anime Special Stage was held yesterday (27 March), as part of the Anime Japan 2022. Several famous Japanese voice actors — Junichi Suwabe, Kenjiro Tsuda, Mariya Ise, Megumi Han, and Yuki Kaji — were invited to introduce their upcoming anime, which will premiere on Netflix worldwide within the year.

Here’s the full list of anime coming to Netflix, including those not mentioned during the event, in chronological order:

A roster of voice actors introduced their anime series during the event:

Kenjiro Tsuda

Tsuda, known for his distinct voice as Nanami Kento in Jujutsu Kaisen, Tatsu in The Way Of The Househusband, and the narrator in Cells At Work: Code Black, will be voice-acting as Lucius Modestus in the comedy anime series Thermae Romae Novae.

Premiering on Netflix today (28 March), the story follows a proud bath architect in ancient Rome, who starts randomly surfacing in present-day Japan, where he is inspired by the many bathing innovations he finds.

Tsuda said during the event that he had to learn how to speak classical Latin for his role. As there was no one to teach him real classical Latin (a language from the ancient days), there was no right way for him to articulate the sounds. He literally went with his gut feelings!

Megumi Han

Han, best known as Gon in Hunter X Hunter (2011), will be voice-acting as Momo in the sci-fi fantasy anime series Vampire In The Garden. Premiering on Netflix on 16 May, the story follows a young girl and a vampire on a journey to find Paradise, a place where humans and vampires live in harmony.

Han will also be returning as Purin Ezaki with Tsuda as Standard in action sci-fi anime series Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2, available on Netflix from 23 May.

Junichi Suwabe

Suwabe, whose deep voice has been part of many top anime series, including Prince Of Tennis as Keigo Atobe; Black Clover as Yami Sukehiro; and Jujutsu Kaisen as Ryomen Sukuna, revealed that he will be voice-acting as Alien Pedanto in Ultraman Season 2. It will premiere on Netflix on 14 April.

Suwabe also plays a fierce-looking but cute ojisan (uncle) Isamu Tamaru in the comedy anime series Kotaro Lives Alone. Now streaming on Netflix, Kotaro Lives Alone is about a lonely little boy who moves into a ramshackle apartment building all on his own and makes friends with the broke manga artist who lives next door.

Mariya Ise

Ise is known for her roles as Killua Zoldyck in the 2011 remake of Hunter X Hunter and Ray in The Promised Neverland.

She will be voice-acting as Foo Fighters in the fifth season of adventure fantasy anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Episodes one to 12 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean are now available on Netflix, and episodes 13 to 24 will be released this year.

Ise will also be voice-acting as Yoshino Somei in the action sci-fi anime series Spriggan, which premieres on Netflix on 18 June. The story follows the Spriggan agents, who must keep an ancient alien civilisation's relics on Earth, which hold dangerous powers, out of the wrong hands.

Yuki Kaji

Kaji, known as Eren Yeager in Attack On Titan and Kenma Kozume in Haikyuu, will return as Meliodas in the two-part adventure fantasy anime film The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge Of Edinburg. The story will shift the spotlight to Meliodas’ son, Tristan. The details of the second part have not been revealed, but the first part will premiere in 2022.

Kaji will also voice-act in the anime film Bubble, set in an abandoned Tokyo overrun by bubbles and gravitational abnormalities. It will be available on Netflix from 28 April. He will voice-act in the fantasy anime series Akuma-kun as well, slated to be released in 2023.
