Angela Hui resonates well with her latest single

1 Jun – One might say that Angela Hui's new song, "Don't Be Good To Me" is a take on the ridiculous and cliché breakup statements familiar to everybody - like "you are good to me" and "it's not you, it's me".

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who spoke about the song written by Phil Lam, shared that she could resonate well with the lyrics after hearing it, since she has had experienced such a breakup in the past.

"I was in a relationship with an industry outsider before. We were together for more than a year. But when the other party proposed to break up, he said things like, "it's good for you", or "you will find someone better". I thought of it as just an excuse and was reluctant. But now I realised that it's better to separate," she said.

"There are many reasons for breaking up. Sometimes it can be ridiculous," she added.

On the other hand, when asked if she is worried of the risk of releasing her new song during the pandemic, the singer stated that she is not one to worry and would rely on online channels to promote the song.
