Angel Locsin regrets endorsing politician Koko Pimentel

27 Mar – Angel Locsin has no issue admitting that she regretted endorsing politician Koko Pimentel, who sparked anger recently after breaking his self-quarantine to accompany his wife to the Makati Medical Centre.

As reported on Rappler, the actress, who endorsed Pimentel in the 2007 election, said as much when asked by a fan on Twitter if she felt sorry for supporting him, seeing how he had caused further complications to others, and tweeted, "Yes. Super. Mortal sin."

"Forgive me, because he is the ex-husband of my cousin," she added.

Pimentel made headlines recently after he was revealed to have broken quarantine protocol and exposed the public, including healthcare workers, to the coronavirus when he decided to accompany his pregnant wife to her check-up.

Many slammed Pimentel for his irresponsible action, including MMC's medical director Dr Saturnino Javier, who stated that Pimentel has added to the burden of a hospital trying to respond in its most competent and aggressive manner to cope with the daunting challenges of this COVID-19 outbreak.
