Andy Lau changes perspective post-accident

28 Nov – Although he has always been in control of his life, Andy Lau recently admitted that he has learned a lot about letting go after his 2017 horse-riding accident that left him temporarily incapacitated.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who appeared on the talk show, "Vanilla Sky" recently, shared that during his period of recovery, he realised that there will always be unexpected occurrences in one's life.

"When something big affects you, your plans will grind to a halt. I originally thought that I will be walking again in three months, but I ended up being in the wheelchair for another four months," he said.

Andy also added that it was hard for him to rely on the nurse to use the urinal in the first two months of his accident.

"It was embarrassing at first. But then I had to change my perspective. When I am sick, I am not "Andy Lau"," he added.

On the other hand, the show's host Vani admitted that she is thankful to the Hong Kong star for being thoughtful during her trying times in the past, when she was diagnosed with cancer.

"When I had a seven-hour operation, I woke up to see a fruit basket sent by Andy Lau. I was very happy," she said.
