9 Apr – TVB producer Andy Chan recently confirmed that the broadcaster has decided to keep Mat Yeung away from promoting the new series, "Shadow of Justice" for the time being.

As reported on Mingpao, the producer, who appeared at a press conference to publicise the new drama alongside lead stars Bobby Au Yeung and Joe Ma, admitted that it was inappropriate to ask Mat to appear at such events now that his case has entered legal proceedings.

"We're not removing him from the drama, though," he added. "He's just not in promotional events and posters."

As to whether he is worried that netizens would focus more on Mat's court case rather than the series when it finally airs, Andy said that viewers would know to separate entertainment and reality.

Asked if the fact that Mat is playing a traffic police officer may be too sensitive, seeing that he was previously arrested by the traffic police for crashing his car, the producer agreed, saying, "It is sensitive. But a drama is a drama, and a drama is just entertainment."

Andy added that he has not been in contact with Mat for a while now, and that he would rather give the actor some space.

It is noted earlier that Mat's image had been removed from the promotional poster and trailer of the new drama amid the actor's legal issue stemming from his car accident in August last year. In March last month, the actor's legal counsel pleaded to reverse Mat's plea of guilty for careless driving and illegal window tinting on the basis that the actor was misled into thinking he would avoid jail time if he pleaded guilty to the charges.
