Andi Eigenmann defends fiance over accusations of stealing donations

22 Dec - Andi Eigenmann recently expressed sadness over fiancé Philmar Alipayo being accused of stealing donations that are intended for the victims of super typhoon Odette.

The actress, who did not elaborate more on the accusation itself, posted her thoughts on Instagram Story, saying that Philmar left her and the children in Makati to see what more he could do to help in their home island, Siargao.

"It is very sad to know that he is being accused of stealing donations when he even specifically ignored his chance to use his platform to ask for them, since he's more than willing to use his own money to help our community out," she said.

Saying that Philmar is someone who enjoys the simple life, Andi stated that it was hurtful that people think that he would steal from others.

"Before he left, I kept telling him to take care, and he kept assuring me he will be ok by saying, "[My love], I am used to having nothing. We are used to having no bed to sleep on, no aircon, no purified water, no proper food to eat. I will be ok," she added.

It is noted that the couple and their children were not in Siargao when the super typhoon hit last week, as Andi was attending a friend's wedding in Batangas.

Philmar left Andi and their children in Makati while he went back to Siargao to help out.
