Amy Schumer Named Most Dangerous Celebrity Online

Amy Schumer is many things — funny, smart, and fearless — but now she can be described with one more adjective: dangerous.

Schumer topped the 10th annual list of most dangerous celebrities online, compiled by Intel Security. According to the official release, the list tracks “which celebrities, musicians and TV hosts generate the most dangerous search results, potentially exposing consumers to malware.”

Schumer knocked EDM DJ Armin van Buuren off the top spot this year, with 16.11 percent of searches for her name leading to sites that could infect your computer with viruses or expose personal information.

That puts the “Trainwreck” and “Inside Amy Schumer” star a head above No. 2 on the list, Justin Bieber, who clocked in with 15 percent. Other celebrities who made the top 10 list include Will Smith, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez.

“With this craving for real-time information, many search and click without considering potential security risks,” said Gary Davis, chief consumer security evangelist at Intel Security. Cybercriminals know this and take advantage of this behavior by attempting to lead them to unsafe sites loaded with malware. As a result, consumers need to understand what precautions to take to enable safe online experiences.”
