Mariel de Leon falls in love with acting

The beauty queen says that she has changed her mind about acting after working with Coco Martin

8 Mar – If she has her hesitations about joining showbiz in the past, beauty queen-turned-actress Mariel de Leon stated that all the concerns vanished after the experience of working with Coco Martin on "Ang Panday".

As reported on PEP, the actress, who made her acting debut in the actor's own aforementioned directorial debut, shared that she didn't want to be an artiste at first as she saw how hard the life of an actor is from looking at her parents, Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong.

"I was scared. I saw how my parents are always coming home late and looking very tired. But after doing "Panday", I really had fun. It opened up my mind about trying to act more," she said.

de Leon said that Martin and the "Ang Panday" team were one of the reasons why she wanted to do it.

"Everybody was very nice to me. They were patient because I'm new. They were teaching me how to say the lines, how to act or react. So I think, it sparked something in me to learn more about acting. I also think I would enjoy it as long as I am with good people," she added.

de Leon also revealed that she will soon star in the new movie, "Latay", directed by Ralston Jover. She will be working alongside Lovie Poe and Allen Dizon.

When asked who she wants to work with in the future, de leon named Piolo Pascual, Liza Soberano, Angelica Panganiban, and Judy Ann Santos.
