Following its first edition at BIGBOX HyperMart last October, the fashion art festival Outsider will return this year at cinema The Projector.

Running from 4 to 7 April 2018, the festival will showcase art exhibitions and fashion collections from the region.

Organised by local creative agency Untitled Collective, the festival will showcase 19 designers and artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and the UK in the cinema at The Projector.

Organisers are building on the success of their inaugural edition last year which drew 1,500 visitors from 20 to 22 October.

Branding itself as the “anti-elitist fashion art festival”, the 2017 festival had supermarket shelves filled with pieces from various fashion collections instead of groceries.

The participating fashion labels were LANNERET (China), MAKIN JAN MA (Hong Kong), Man Chien (Malaysia), METHODOLOGY (Hong Kong), Q DESIGN AND PLAY (Thailand), Absurd by Absurd Laboratory (Hong Kong), Alias (China), BATICE (Taiwan), MS YEEYEE (China), Faculty (Singapore), VOLTAIRE.VISIONS (Singapore), 1=X (China) and Mimblanche (China).

The event last year also featured works by 10 local artists as well as fashion graduates from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
