Since its opening night 90 years ago, the Academy Awards red carpet has become one of the most style-watched events of its time. Who could forget Nicole Kidman in an off-beat chartreuse couture dress that dazzled onlookers in 1997 — or Halle Berry, who filled us with body-envy donning a sheer-panel floral gown back in 2002?
