Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is here and Amazon is celebrating with the launch of an Amazon Handmade shop featuring items by four AAPI designers. The selection of offerings ranges from handcrafted stationery items to wooden sculpted planters. The featured designers are Jasmine of Essance Skincare, Krit of Soothi Containers of Creativity, Marcia of Kahili Creations, and Julie of Trail575.

California-based indie candle brand Trail575 was created to merge the founder's love of nature and Haiku. "We seek inspiration for scents along each trail explored, translating these moments into scented candles described by haiku," Julie explains on her store page. Stationery brand Soothi Containers of Creativity, meanwhile, was founded after the owner tired of working for a bigger corporation and wanted to create her own business with values rooted in sustainability and creativity.

This year's AAPI Heritage Month comes during a time of historically high amounts of Anti-Asian hate crimes and violence. "In light of the heightened violence against the Asian American community, one thing is clear to me—we are the strongest when we unite as one voice," says Ming Huang, President of Asians at Amazon’s Settle Chapter in a statement. "Amplification is key. I am proud of the Asian American community for their governance and coming together to inspire change by leveraging their own platforms."
