Altimet on the COVID situation: We're all tired!
24 May – Just like all of us normal people, rapper Altimet is also annoyed and tired of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of direction when it comes to actual prevention and solution to the matter.
On 22 May, the songwriter took to Instagram to express his frustration, writing, "I'm tired. We're tired. For over a year we followed the rules. Personal will is set aside, for the good of all, so our country recovers, defeat this pandemic."
"I'm tired of telling my son about this virus, this invisible enemy. I'm tired of explaining to him why he can't play with his cousins, his friends. I pity my children because their social development and friendship are stunted due to not going to school. I'm tired of the losses my business suffered. I can't close it because then a lot of my friends will be left jobless, and I'm tired of buying things from friends in the entertainment industry, who have to do business because they don't have a job," he explained.
Altimet expressed hope that the people "upstairs" will realise how exhausted everybody is with the current situation, that everybody is doing their best to obey the rules and regulations set by the authority.
His said post had since received a lot of support from fans and followers alike, with some sharing their own stories of struggling in the pandemic times.
It is noted that Altimet has been doing a lot of charity work since the pandemic started, from donating food to the needy, to giving up his van and donating it to be used as an ambulance.
