We're already excited for party season thanks to Aldi's 'hangover free' prosecco

There’s nothing worse than waking up with a throbbing headache and a half-eaten McDonald’s on the pillow beside you after “just one drink” with friends.

But what if we told you that a ‘hangover free’ bottle of bubbly exists? Yes, Aldi has launched its own line of Organic Prosecco – foggy headaches not included.

The £7.99 bottle contains fewer sulphite preservatives than your go-to bottle of fizz. Therefore, you’re less likely to develop a can’t-move-from-the-sofa-all-day hangover.

The bubbly is also sourced from grapes hand-picked from the Corvezzo family estate situated 30km north-east of Venice where the fruit is grown with “no pesticides or herbicides” – another factor expected to help lessen the chances of a hangover.

Whether or not there’s truth behind the claims is up for debate, but the organic prosecco has already amassed over 174 five-star reviews online.

Lidl’s in-house wine expert, Richard Bampfield, previously spoke out about the benefits of the budget chain’s fizz.

“We’ve all had that shocking wine hangover. This is sometimes attributed to the sulphite preservatives used in wine to keep them fresher for longer,” he said. “Generally, organic wine producers use a lower level of sulphites in the production process, which means they are less likely to contribute to hangovers.”

We don’t know about you but we’ll be stocking up in time for party season…
