30 Dec – Allen Dizon recently admitted that even he was surprised to win Best Actor at the recently held Metro Manila Film Festivals' Gabi Ng Parangal.

As reported on PEP, the actor, who won for his performance as a father of a cancer-stricken child in Brillante Mendoza's "Mindanao", stated that he assumed that Aga Muhlach would win the category for his portrayal of a mentally challenged man falsely convicted for murder in "Miracle in Cell No. 7".

"I thought from the very first day that he was going to win Best Actor. I never expected that I would. But it all depended on the jury. I am just happy," he added.

Dizon stated that he attended the event expecting his co-star Judy Ann Santos to win, and not him. Santos did go home with the Best Actress accolade.

"It's a bonus. After all, I gave my all for the movie. I didn't expect to win, but here it is. I really enjoyed doing the movie," he added.

Nonetheless, Dizon said that he considered all his fellow nominees a winner, as all of them had given their best shot.
