Alien: Covenant Casts Four New Faces

It looks as though ‘Alien: Covenant’ is rounding out its ship’s crew…

According to Deadline, the upcoming ‘Prometheus’ sequel has just added four new cast members… rounding out its cast ahead of filming next month.

“Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant is in the process of rounding out it main cast ahead of production, which is now being eyed to start next month,” they revealed. “Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo and Callie Hernandez have signed on to a cast that already features Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride.”

But who are the Covenant’s latest crew members?

Jussie Smollett plays Jamal Lyon in the hit TV show, ‘Empire’. He has also appeared in episodes of ‘Revenge’ as well as ‘The Mindy Project’.

Amy Seimetz is the star and co-creator of ‘The Girlfriend Experience’ and is currently filming an untitled Emily Dickinson project.

Carmen Ejogo played the role of Coretta Scott King in last year’s Oscar-nominated ‘Selma’ and will next appear in the ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off, ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’.

Callie Hernandez is perhaps best known for a minor role in ‘Machete Kills’ and recently wrapped ‘La La Land’ opposite Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

‘Alien: Covenant’ is said to follow on from Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’, and sees Michael Fassbender return as David – a lifelike android who has found himself becoming the sole inhabitant of a remote planet.

But when the crew of the colony ship Covenant discover this uncharted paradise, it turns out that things aren’t quite what they seem…

Of course, David wasn’t the only one to escape the events of ‘Prometheus’.

Dr Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace, was last seen heading off in search of an alien home world at the end of ‘Prometheus’. But while Ridley Scott previously stated that Shaw would not return in the upcoming sequel, that could still be up for debate.

“Only Fassbender is confirmed to reprise his character from 2012’s Prometheus,” they explained. “It remains unclear whether Noomi Rapace will return we’re told.”

‘Alien: Covenant’ heads to cinemas on 6 October 2017.
