Alexander Wang is constantly inspired by Ralph Lauren's work.
Both designers are at the top of their game, though Lauren, 78, has been in industry a lot longer than 33-year-old Wang.
However, like the older fashion star, Wang has been recognised by his peers on numerous occasions, and has been honoured with awards such as the CFDA Swarovski Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.
"Ralph Lauren is a constant source of inspiration for his ability to create a ubiquitous and encompassing world that is instantly recognisable," Wang said to ES Magazine.
During his chat with the British publication for its My London feature, Wang ran through his favourite hot spots in the U.K. capital, including The Rosewood London hotel, and iconic nightclub G-A-Y.
Music is often a big part of his time in London, and he revealed himself to be a hip-hop and grime fan.
"I was in town for a few days last summer and managed to see Drake and Skepta play Wireless festival; they were amazing. It was cool to experience such a large music festival in the middle of the city," he smiled. "(The last album I bought) was the most recent Drake album, More Life, is on repeat. My favourite song is Gyalchester."
And when asked about his biggest extravagance, Wang admitted he is a sucker for skincare.
"Skincare is my biggest extravagance. I'm a junkie and I'll do anything if someone I trust recommends it, even if it involves pain or extremely bad smells, including blood and placenta," he laughed.
