Alden Richards sheds 25 pounds for "Hello, Love, Goodbye"

11 Jul – Alden Richards recently admitted that he had actually lost some weight to shoot his new movie, "Hello, Love, Goodbye".

As reported on Inquirer, the actor, who appeared at the press conference of the said movie recently, shared that director Cathy Garcia-Molina actually came up to him and requested him to shed some pounds prior to shooting in Hong Kong, after expressing her dissatisfaction with his looks during the test shots.

"We had a month preparation before going to Hong Kong, so I told [Cathy], "When you see me then, I will not look like that"," he said.

Richards kept his word, telling the media that he lost around 20 to 25 pounds in a month and a half without the help of any weight loss programme.

"I just did my own diet and workouts. I really did it alone," he said.

The Kapuso star said that he learned a new thing about himself from the said effort - that he is capable of showing great commitment to his work.

"I am so happy to be able to work with these people and with Cathy. She changed the way I see my work now. It can't be half-baked. You need to give it your everything," he said.

The upcoming film, co-starring Kathryn Bernardo, will premiere on 31 July.
