Alan Tam thinks Eric Tsang-TVB conflict is just a gimmick

15 Aug – While many speculated a conflict between Eric Tsang and TVB, good friend Alan Tam is convinced that there is no truth to the rumours at all.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the singer, who was asked to comment on the controversy, joked that he would have sat Eric down with TVB Chairman Charles Chan – who came to his recent concert - if the former attended his concert.

"They are fine. I guess the whole rumour was just a publicity for the Miss Hong Kong pageant. How could they even have any problem?" he said.

When asked if he asked Eric about the issue, Alan said that the actor would usually share things like that with him instead.

"Maybe he knows I've been busy, so he hasn't shared it with me," he said.

Rumours of rift between Eric and the broadcaster sparked last month when the actor became a guest on rival network ViuTV for its World Cup event, and told the media that TVB won't care about such trivial things.

The statement supposedly angered the company, and as a result, TVB supposedly banned Eric from hosting this year's Miss Hong Kong pageant.

Neither TVB nor Eric have spoken about the rumours.
