The Air Jordan 9 Retro ‘University Blue’ Is Releasing Next Month — Here’s How to Get It

Jordan Brand is set to introduce a new colorway of the Air Jordan 9.

Arriving next weekend is the Air Jordan 9 Retro “University Blue,” which is the latest colorway of Michael Jordan’s ninth signature shoe.

The model sports a white leather upper that’s contrasted by glittery black overlays that cover the mudguard and extend to the collar. Unlike the traditional red accents used on Air Jordans to represent MJ’s heyday with the Chicago Bulls, the Jumpman branding for this pair comes in university blue. The simple color scheme extends to the tooling with a black foam midsole and a white rubber outsole.

The Air Jordan 9 Retro “University Blue” will be released on Dec. 5 via the Nike SNKRS app and at select Jordan Brand retailers for $190.

The Air Jordan 9 made its retail debut in 1993, and years later new colorways continue to be released. MJ never had the chance to wear the Air Jordan 9 on the basketball courts as he had retired from the game in 1993, opting to play baseball instead. (The hoops icon played a single season in the minor leagues.)

In related Air Jordan news, Jordan Brand has confirmed that the highly anticipated release of J Balvin’s Air Jordan 1 High collab is releasing on Dec. 8.
