Adele Endorses Hillary Clinton as Presidential Candidate Makes Surprise Appearance at Her Concert

The love between Hillary Clinton and Adele is definitely mutual.

The always outspoken Adele openly declared her support for the Democratic presidential nominee during her concert in Miami, Florida, on Tuesday night, while Clinton just so happened to be in the audience.

"I do know what to do -- don't vote for him, that's what I'm saying," Adele told the cheering audience, referring to Donald Trump. "I can't vote, but I am 100 percent for Hillary Clinton. I love her, she's amazing."

"I am English, but what happens in America affects me, too," she added.

Clinton didn't join Adele on stage or even meet the singer backstage, CNN reports, but she clearly couldn't be more pleased with Adele's ringing endorsement.

"That was quite a birthday surprise, @Adele. Loved the show last night!" she tweeted on Wednesday, when she turned 69 years old.

"I went to the Adele concert after we finished our day of campaigning in Florida and I was stunned and thrilled because I'm a huge fan of hers, and it meant a lot to me that she said something so positive," Clinton explained to SiriusXM's Mark Thompson on Wednesday.

However, she did get criticism from Trump for taking time off the campaign to attend the show.

"I think it's so unfair because, you know, Hillary Clinton goes to see an Adele concert last night, and everybody says, 'Oh, wasn't that nice. Isn't that wonderful?'" Trump told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, referring to criticism he's faced for tending to business matters during the election. " ... Nobody complains when she goes to an Adele concert all night long, while I'm making two speeches at rallies with, you know, massive crowds."

Though Adele, of course, isn't the only celeb openly supporting Clinton. Katy Perry celebrated her 32nd birthday on Tuesday by placing an early vote for Clinton at her local polling place, while dressed up in a fabulous American flag-printed coat and a matching purse. Watch below:
