Former TVB actress Fala Chen, who is now pursuing a career in the United States after cutting ties with the Hong Kong television broadcasting company, speaks up about the prevalent Asian hate in the States by sharing a #StopAsianHate photo on her Instagram recently.

“A surge in violence against elderly Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) is happening across the US. Please support the AAPI community fund! This is an immediate but also a long fight for justice and equality! #stopasianhate,” Chen wrote in the captions.

This comes after a series of race-related hate crimes happening in the United States, including one that left a 75-year-old Asian American man brain dead after an attack.

The 37-year-old actress had also recently dropped a surprise Valentine’s Day announcement on her Instagram when she posted a photo of three hands, presumably belonging to her newborn, her, and her husband. Having married Frenchman Emmanuel Straschnov in May 2019, the post also included a previously unseen photo of Chen during the pregnancy.

“The past 10 months have been a wondrous journey, filled with unknowns, amazement, love, and lots of joy. Our hearts are full as new parents, and we look forward to every day with this little lady,” she wrote.

She added a hashtag, #mylittlevalentine, and in Chinese, #LittleMinnie.

According to Hong Kong’s Oriental Daily News, Chen revealed that her daughter had been nicknamed Little Minnie as she was born in the tail end of the Year of the Rat. She also shared that her daughter has dimples like her husband and that it was a natural birth.

It is Chen’s second marriage, having split up with businessman Daniel Sit in 2013 after six years of marriage. Sit was not present at Chen’s Paris wedding.

Based in New York, Chen is starring in the upcoming Disney-Marvel film Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings.
