Tim Hortons, the Canadian coffee chain that’s famous for its Timbits and maple-flavored drinks, is finally opening its first outlet in Singapore at VivoCity this Friday, and the chain is celebrating the occasion by giving away some very generous prizes.
The brand is ready to serve up some of its signature brews made from 100 percent premium Arabica beans. You can choose from classics like cafe latte or seasonal specials like maple cinnamon latte, depending on your mood.
But coffee is not the only thing on the menu. You can also munch on some sourdough melts and baked goodies, including the iconic Timbits, which are donut holes that come in various flavors. And if you’re feeling particularly Singaporean, you can try some of the local-inspired items, such as iced oolong tea refreshers and ondeh ondeh cake slices.
Don’t worry about the halal status, because Tim Hortons is currently applying for certification. And the products served do not contain pork or lard, so you can enjoy them with peace of mind.
To celebrate its grand opening, Tim Hortons is giving away some awesome prizes. For starters, if you’re one of the first 100 customers daily from Nov. 17 to Nov. 19, you’ll get a free regular cafe latte every week for six months. Six. Months.
But that’s not all. On Nov. 17, the next 100 customers will get some exclusive Tim Hortons merchandise, while the 30 best-dressed customers will get a swag box worth up to S$80. So dress to impress (donning Maple Leafs or Canadiens jerseys would probably get you bonus points) and get ready to queue up.
If you’re not lucky enough to snag these deals, you can still get a free regular cafe latte by downloading the Tim Hortons app and signing up. It’s that simple.
Tim Hortons is not stopping at VivoCity. The brand plans to open more outlets in Nex, One Raffles Place and Suntec City in the next few months. And they’re also eyeing other locations in Tampines, Jurong and Punggol.
Timmie’s, as the franchise is affectionately called in Canada, currently has over 5,700 stores, the majority of which are located in its home nation. Tim Hortons is available in 15 countries, including the Philippines (in Manila, to be exact), China, India, the US, the UK, and Saudi Arabia.
The franchise was founded in 1964 by Canadian hockey player Tim Horton. It was primarily a simple coffee and donuts shop before it expanded its menu to include the beloved Timbits, dutchie, and flavored cappuccino, which are especially delightful in the unforgiving Canadian winter.
