Aaron Kwok has no plans to compete in music awards again

12 Jan – Although he recently appeared as a performer at the 40th anniversary concert of RTHK Top Ten Chinese Gold Song Awards, it doesn't mean that Aaron Kwok has any plans to compete in any music-related award shows again in the future.

According to Mingpao, the singer, who spoke to the media after the event, stated that the only reason he agreed to appear at the show was because it has been 16 years since he last attended a music awards, and RTHK played a big part in his career since the show gave him his first ever newcomer award.

"I basically stopped attending music awards, although I didn't make any formal announcement. I didn't even know what has happened since I've been gone," he said.

When mentioned that a lot of senior singers like him and Andy Lau no longer participate in music awards, Aaron said that there was a time when they were the ones competing and their seniors decided not to do the same.

"As long as there is a good song, music will never die. It will certainly be alive and become more and more exciting," he said.
