Aaron Kwok: Benny Chan was my benefactor

10 Sep – Just like his fellow actors and filmmakers, Aaron Kwok admitted that he was also heartbroken over the death of director Benny Chan.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who appeared at the funeral service for the said filmmaker on 7 September, stated that anybody who had worked with Benny would have considered the filmmaker a good friend.

"I am definitely very sad and heartbroken. He was my benefactor. I would really miss him. I even invited him to watch [my new movie] "I'm Livin' It". He promised he would watch it," he said.

It is noted that Aaron had won his first Golden Horse Best Actor award through Benny's movie, "Divergence".

The actor also revealed that Benny had planned to helm a musical film earlier, but that nothing was confirmed yet prior to his passing.

Benny Chan passed away last month after a year battling nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He was 58.
