A coffee-brewing straw? This portable device makes a 'buzz'-worthy Mother's Day gift, and it's down to $25

Mom can take the pocket-sized JoGo camping or use it at home when she wants a single cup, stat.

Attention, coffee drinkers: If you must have access to your energy-boosting beverage of choice at all times, you'll want to check out this portable coffee-brewing straw. You read that correctly: The JoGo is a travel-friendly device that filters out coffee grounds and tea leaves as you sip, allowing you to enjoy a cup from just about anywhere. And with Mother's Day coming up (May 12, to be exact), what better gift for the mom who enjoys a java jolt on the go? It's also on sale — we'll drink to this Amazon deal!

According to the brand, this small yet mighty straw allows you to enjoy French press-style coffee no matter where you are.

Prime members can snag this pocket-sized java brewer for just $25 (down from $30), which is the lowest price we've seen since last summer. Not to mention, it'll save you money on disposable filters!

Made of food-grade stainless steel and BPA-free silicone, the JoGo works like any other straw, only it's equipped with a filter at the bottom to keep those unpleasant particles from ruining the drinking experience. To use it, all you do is fill your mug with hot water and ground coffee or loose-leaf tea, stir it and start sippin'! You can add milk, sugar or any other flavorings you typically use, and it also works with juice if you want to strain the pulp.

At less than 8 inches long, it's a compact, lightweight travel companion, whether you're out hiking or at the office. Going camping? No need to pack bulky brewing gear or worry about paper filters. And if you want to make a single cup at home but don't feel like busting out your full-sized machine, well, problem solved!

Another cool feature? The silicone tip helps cool down that piping-hot liquid before it reaches your lips, and if you want to use it as a regular straw, the filter can be removed. Plus, sipping acidic drinks like coffee through a straw can help prevent teeth stains — and speaking of stains, the JoGo is dishwasher-safe.

Amazon customers praise the JoGo for its portability, ease of use and durability, among other things.

"I love this product — not just for traveling," wrote one caffeine consumer. "It's perfect for a quick cup of coffee, mate or herbal tea at home, with much less cleanup than a French press or coffee pot. No counter space required!"

"I was skeptical at first, drinking hot coffee from a straw seems counterintuitive," admitted a contented convert. "However, after using this, I now keep my hot water maker, coffee grounds and creamer next to my desk and make a fresh cup of coffee and enjoy it with the straw. The design actually helps diffuse the hot liquid from burning your mouth (of course do not try to drink when boiling hot). The coffee tastes amazing. ... I might just get rid of my coffee brewer."

"This is the coolest idea yet!" exclaimed a third buyer. "It works great for camping or if you need to pack light. I tried it with tea (just cut a tea bag open and dumped in hot water) and the tea was so much stronger and I got absolutely no leaves sucked up the straw. Also, it is an extremely sturdy design … I feel like I could run it over with my car and it would still work."

According to one otherwise satisfied sipper, the JoGo could make your coffee more potent. "The only downside is the coffee gets far too strong before I finish drinking it," they shared. "But if you don't linger too long on your cup of joe, this is great."

"The only complaint is that once you get toward the bottom of your drink, it's hard for the liquid to come through the straw with all the grounds surrounding the filter," wrote a final fan.
