90-year-old Angela Lansbury sings Beauty and the Beast theme flawlessly
Much like riding a bike, it appears that Angela Lansbury can take on the timeless theme to ‘Beauty and the Beast’ even at the age of 90.
The 'Murder, She Wrote’ star busted out a pretty flawless rendition of song to help celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary at the Lincoln Center in Los Angeles.

She was accompanied by Alan Menken, who scored the original soundtrack to the movie, and won two Oscars (Best Original Song and Best Original Score) for his trouble.
“It’s never been very far away from me,” she told the audience. “It will be remembered I think, as one of the great movies I will be remembered for.
“Among the movies I will be remembered for, I’d say this is number one or two.”
The British-born actress played the palace cook Mrs Potts in the film, who is turned into a teapot and becomes a mother figure to Belle.
Famously, during the making of the movie, Menken and the theme’s co-writer Howard Ashman asked Lansbury if she would sing the theme herself, but she believed that she did not have a strong enough singing voice to carry it off.
Menken and Ashman pleaded with her to record at least one take in order to find out.
Reducing the staff in the studio to tears, Lansbury’s first take was the one that was used in the film, and which later won the Oscar.
Disney’s new, live-action version of the classic cartoon wrapped over the summer, with Emma Watson playing Belle and ‘Downton Abbey’ star Dan Stevens as the Beast.
It’s due out in March, 2017.
