Hen night, or bachelorette parties are getting increasingly popular these days in Singapore but are known for being a stressful event to plan. I’ve been a maid-of-honour once and a bridesmaid twice now (thank you for the faith, friends) and I absolutely agree with that statement.
The hardest part for me when planning this once in a lifetime event has always been logistics, logistics, logistics. It’s easy to google some great hen party ideas but I struggled to make the day flow as seamlessly as possible without tiring out the bride-to-be and her entourage.
So ladies, I’ve narrowed down some venue options, categorised them according to the interests of the bride, so you can use as a theme for the day AND maximise the general location for your party. I’ve even taken budget into consideration

If you know your guest of honour would love nothing more than a day out with good food, good company and surrounded by lush greenery, these two garden options should be more than suitable.
1. The Halia at Singapore Botanic Gardens
Located in the Ginger Garden of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, The Halia (Malay for ginger) is the perfect setting for a garden hen party. The architecture of the restaurant itself is evidently conscious of the surrounding land and greenery making for a truly picturesque afternoon or evening with your girls.
Come in cool summer dresses and opt for outdoor seating to feel at one with nature. The Halia will provide a classy yet laid back ambience for the hen party so that the bride can have a memorable day chatting over good food with her closest friends.
Keeping a budget in mind, I would recommend starting the day at The Halia and ordering their Set Lunch (12pm – 2pm). Two courses are priced at $28 and three courses at $32, which isn’t too bad considering the rest of your day spent at the Botanic Gardens is pretty much free.
The Singapore Botanic Gardens itself has so much to offer, you could spend the entire day there, just make sure you’ve all got your sunnies and portable chargers and remember to think up fun activities around the gardens that the bride-to-be will never forget!

2. Pollen
If you and the girls are pulling out all the stops for a garden party, I’m sure any nature loving bride-to-be will more than appreciate a day out at Gardens by the Bay. Housed in the Flower Dome, Pollen would be a great starting or ending point for the celebrations.
Their Set Lunch menu is slightly pricey at $55 ++ but all guests of Pollen will enjoy free entry to the Flower Dome AND will be picked up from Gardens by the Bay’s arrival plaza in a limousine buggy. Talk about a fancy day to remember.
Plan your hen party activities around the conservatories and outdoor gardens at Gardens by the Bay, and rest knowing that the bride will come away with some pretty amazing photos filled with flowers and SuperTrees!

We’ve all got that one friend with a beautiful tan given her love for anything sun, sand and sea related. If the bride-to-be is a beach babe, here are two venues for an unforgettable hen party.
3. Tanjong Beach Club
Tanjong Beach Club (TBC) jumps to mind every time I think of planning a hen party at Sentosa. There really is no better way to justify the journey there, and why not plan for a day of fun that’s not too spenny?
Book a day bed for you and the girls and spend a lazy afternoon chilling while helping the bride get her tan on for the big day. Stay till the night on a weekend for some of the many parties that TBC is famous for.
After a dip in the pool or the sea, check out the extensive menu that would satisfy any impending bridezilla (hangry is totally a thing). Brunch (10am – 3pm) ranges from a decent $15 to $35, and pretty cocktails are available all day as well starting at $19.
Since it’s located in Sentosa, using TBC as your base allows you and the girls to go exploring as well and partake in other fun activities that will make the most of your day of celebrations.

4. Prive
For a more intimate hen party setting that still makes the most of Singapore’s glorious sunshine, throw a party at Prive. Get the bride-to-be and the girls out to Keppel Bay and be spoilt for choice between the Prive Grill, Waterfront Bar and Café.
I personally recommend the Prive Café for a more laid back atmosphere, plus they’re famous for their all-day breakfast menu that starts at an affordable $12. Besides, saving a bit more on brunch will allow you to splash out on a luxurious hen party activity: renting a yacht to island hop!
Marine Bookings offer relatively affordable yacht rental rates ($1000 for 10 pax for a day) and you can get all the bridesmaids to chip in to make it happen. They welcome hen parties and feature yachts that come equipped with music systems and even kayaks to make sure your activities are sorted.

A hen party typically centres on the bride-to-be, and rightly so. If your friend who’s about to get married is all about dainty and elegant things, these two pretty café options will make sure she gets an Instagram-worthy setting.
Couple that with activities to pamper her throughout the day and she’ll be feeling like a princess in no time.
5. Antoinette (Penhas Road)
This French-inspired Café already appears somewhat regal from the outside and does not disappoint with its interior. I recommend the Penhas Road outlet for a small hen gathering as it’s better lit and more inviting.
This is what I mean by pretty. Call in advance (at least a week to be safe) to make a reservation for one of the corner tables for a more private setting. Settle the bride-to-be in one of those cushy chairs and whip out any props you may have brought along: sashes, tiaras, the works.
Order some of their meticulously crafted food and desserts to complete your pretty pictures. Their all-day breakfasts start from an affordable $15.50 and their picture perfect French toasts are priced from $12.
Spend the remainder of the day spoiling the bride with a full manicure and pedicure treat at a nearby nail studio like Manicurious which caters especially for events like hen parties. Why not go for their French Polish ($15) to truly feel like French Royalty.

6. Dazzling Café Mint (Capitol Piazza)
Make the bride-to-be feel pretty in mint at this other stunning option. The Dazzling Café’s very philosophy is all about serving dazzling food in a dazzling venue, and the glam factor doubles as this outlet is situated within the tasteful architecture of Capitol Piazza.
I would recommend reserving a table on the terrace for your group for a more charming setting. Plus, the café can get quite crowded so a smaller area might be nice for girly conversations over toast.
Choose from a variety of mains and desserts that look almost too good to eat. Order the bride a Party In Your Mouth Honey Toast ($18.90) for that cheeky edge to the celebrations.

There’s nothing embarrassing about a bride-to-be who just wants to spend her hen party getting drunk with her closest friends. These two options will not only cater to that but also ensure that you’re close to where all the fun is for a great night out after.
7. BAR Stories
Haji Lane is home to many quaint shops but this one is easy on the eyes and serves some pretty good looking bespoke cocktails ($20 – $25). BAR Stories is definitely what I would call a cosy setting for a hen party, but be sure to call ahead and arrange for your posse because it is quite a small space.
The bar staff are super friendly and it’s quite a personal experience, which is exactly my reason for this choice. There’s no menu so just trust that the bartenders are going to make something that you girls will love.
While I’m sure there will be plenty of entertainment at BAR Stories, continue the night in the surrounding area and plan your hen party activities at other bars/cafes that come alive at night like Blujaz Café and Going Om. Both usually offer live music during the weekends and are a great alternative to a night out at the clubs to celebrate.

8. Lantern Rooftop Bar
If clubbing is on the cards for the night, there is no better place to start a hen party than at the Lantern Rooftop Bar in Fullerton Bay Hotel. The venue screams classy and sophisticated, with a spectacular view of the Marina Bay skyline.
With daily themed nights, the bride-to-be can expect a celebration to remember (at least before the fifth cocktail) but be sure to reserve a table as this place is rightfully popular. I’d recommend booking way in advance for their Ladies Night (Wednesdays) to enjoy 20% off a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne and free flow of premium vodka long drinks.
Lantern stays open till 2am on the weekend but if true blue clubbing is what the bride-to-be wants, just hop in a taxi — Lantern’s prime location means you’re minutes away from some of the hottest clubs in Singapore. Maybe even hire a limousine service to get you girls there?
