6 websites to shop your heart out at this Singles' Day

Singles’ Day is officially a thing in Singapore and if you still think it’s a day dedicated to single individuals in the country, you’re wrong.

Originating from China, the global online shopping festival has gained popularity in recent years – including in Singapore – and has become on par with other Western shopping festivals such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Last year, Singles’ Day reportedly brought in record sales for Alibaba hitting US$14.3 billion. This year, Alibaba’s Tmall has officially launched in Singapore ahead of Singles’ Day, which falls on 11 November. Shoppers can look forward to purchasing products at great discounts between 12am and 11.59pm.

But Tmall isn’t the only e-commerce site you can shop at this Singles’ Day – others have hopped on the bandwagon as well.

1. Tmall

Formerly known as Taobao Mall, the website will offer up to 140,000 brands for Singaporeans to shop from. These include 100 popular Chinese brands such as Lin Shi Mo Ye – popular for their furniture – and HSTYLE – popular for their K-fashion clothes.

2. Qoo10

A month after Qoo10’s very own shopping festival on 10 October, the e-commerce site will also be jumping on the Singles’ Day bandwagon this month to offer more discounts to its customers.

Qoo10 will also organise an offline shopping event in conjunction with Singles’ Day at Suntec City. Happening from 6 to 12 November, there will be 20 booths offering discounts of up to 80 per cent. Participating brands include Togifood, CNP Lab and Koryo Mart.

3. Sephora

The beauty department store will be launching a special beauty box from 10 to 11 November, and it will be available exclusively online.

4. Zalora

The online clothing store will be celebrating Singles’ Day from 9 to 12 November. Customers can already log on to the website to start adding items such as discounted tops and T-shirts into their wishlist. You can register your email address early to stay up-to-date with exclusive flash sales.

5. Lazada

This one needs no introduction. If you’re hoping to score great bargains on the best electronic products, Lazada has already revealed some early deals ahead of Singles’ Day.

6. Ezbuy

Ezbuy is celebrating Singles’ Day from 8 to 11 November and customers can expect deals of up to 90 per cent off.
