50-year business Hoe Nam Prawn Noodles makes grand return to old location selling Bak Kut Teh

Residents in the Central region would have heard of Hoe Nam Prawn Noodles by now. An established prawn noodle establishment with similar renown for their pork ribs, they had been operating out of the same coffeeshop since 1996. Sadly, they departed this storied location when the main branch was shifted across the street earlier this year.

Fans will be delighted to learn that they’ve returned to 31 Tai Thong Crescent with Hoe Nam Bak Kut Teh, a new branch selling bak kut teh that opened on 1 Aug.

With their acclaimed pork ribs and prawn noodles of over 50 years, they have managed to develop a secret recipe that will delight bak kut teh lovers as much as they have done for prawn mee fans since 1996.

For an unfettered bak kut teh experience, take on their enormous Signature Claypot BKT (Soup) (S$18.90), serving up to 3 pax, or lead with Claypot BKT (Dry) (S$12.90). Their Premium Spare Ribs (S$10.80) and Spare Ribs (S$6.50) can pair excellently with these main dishes.

Steamed fish is served either Hong Kong-style or Teochew-Style, with the option of Seabass or Golden Pomfret fish (S$6.90 for half, S$12.90 for full). Accompanying these are Kai Lan (S$6.90) and Fried Tofu (S$6.90), as well as Deep Fried Omelette (S$7.90).

Their Teochew specialties include Fried Fish (S$4.50), Braised Duck (S$5) and Fish Soup (S$6.50). The Fish Soup + Braised Duck Set comes at a steal of S$7.90. Adding rice will only set you back an additional S$0.80.

We’re truly glad this legendary establishment has returned to their old spot where countless memories have undoubtedly been forged over the years. And no better way to do so than opening an entirely new branch.
