On Thursday’s “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert poked fun at the overwrought way news media is covering the conflict between the British royal family and Meghan Markle ahead of Markle’s Oprah interview — lots of hyperbolic descriptions like “feud escalates” — by imagining what it would be like if Queen Elizabeth actually insulted Markle publicly. The clip, which begins with a run down of recent coverage, repurposes footage of QEII addressing Parliament but with the audio replaced by a bunch of insults. “Lords and members of the House of Commons: I will now tear that Yankee Tramp, Meghan Markle, a new one,” the Queen begins. “Meghan Markle is so fat” — at which point the crowd yells “how fat is she?” — “Meghan Markle is so fat that when she sits around the house, she sits a-round the house. Of Commons. Which is quite large.” Also Read: Meghan Markle Fans Call 'Racism' on Palace's Accusations of Bullying “Knock knock,” the Queen continued, prompting the crowd to say “who’s there?” “Harry and Meghan.” “Harry and Meghan who?” “Exactly,” the Queen replied. “Nobody cares because they quit the royal family. A-boom, kiss my buttered crumpets.” Yeah, even in fiction Markle comes out ahead, we think. Markle’s Oprah interview will air just days after a U.K. newspaper report accused Markle of “bullying” during her time with the royal family. Citing unnamed sources and an email allegedly sent by a former employee of the couple, the Times report said Meghan “drove two personal assistants out of the household.” Meghan Markle denied the accusations through a spokesperson, calling them an “attack on her character.” On social media, fans denounced the accusations as racist. In a sign that studios might be feeling optimistic about COVID-19 vaccine distribution, Paramount has moved up the release of “A Quiet Place Part II” from September to Memorial Day weekend. The move was announced Thursday evening by director John Krasinski. “They always say good things come to those who wait. Well… I think we’ve waited long enough. A QUIET PLACE PART II MEMORIAL DAY,’ Krasinski tweeted. The sequel to the surprise 2018 horror hit was originally scheduled for release in March 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that really kicked in that same month. Since then “A Quiet Place Part II” has changed release dates several times as the pandemic showed no signs of abating. In April 2020 it was slated for Sept. 4 of that year; Then last July Paramount moved it to April 23, 2021. And just 6 weeks ago, as COVID-19 cases were once again surging in the U.S., Paramount moved it to Sept. 26. Also Read: Watch as COVID Vaccine Funder Dolly Parton 'Gets a Dose of Her Own Medicine' (Video) So what changed? Krasinski didn’t say in his announcement, but we’re guessing it has something to do with President Biden’s announcement earlier this week that the U.S. is on track to have enough doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to cover every adult in the United States by May. Chances are a lot of us will find ourselves willing to sit in a movie theater once we get that second shot. “A Quiet Place” made $340.9 million worldwide on just a $17 million budget for Paramount in 2018, with just under 45% of that total coming from international markets. The sequel brings back Emily Blunt along with Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as they continue to fight for survival against monsters that have invaded Earth, with keeping completely silent the only way to avoid detection. If you haven’t gotten “Agatha All Along” out of your head yet, you’re not alone. The song has been on repeat for everyone over the last couple of weeks and on Spotify it’s been streamed almost two million times. As of Wednesday, just one week since it was been added to Spotify, “Agatha All Along” has streamed 1.8 million times, across 90 different markets. According to Spotify, the U.S., UK, Brazil, Mexico and Germany were the top streaming markets for the song. Agatha Harkness’ catchy theme song first hit streaming services February 23, four days after it premiered on “WandaVision.” Within the day, “Agatha All Along” had gone viral on TikTok, was number one on iTunes’ Top Soundtracks charts and headed for the top 10 on iTunes’ main chart. On February 26 it was briefly dethroned by Post Malone’s cover of “Only Wanna Be With You,” released in honor of Pokemon’s 25th anniversary, but as of today sits in the top spot once more. Also Read: 'WandaVision': Yes, That Was Kathryn Hahn Singing the Agatha Theme Song The success of the villainous anthem came as a surprise to Kathryn Hahn, who brings Agatha to life. In a recent interview with Seth Meyers, Hahn admitted her true reaction to the news. “Don’t understand it,” she told Meyers. Hahn doesn’t have social media herself, so she was entirely unaware of the hype surrounding the song and how quickly it went viral. “The whole thing is so bonkers right now” Hahn said, before giving credit where credit was due, saying the success of “Agatha All Along” is really “a testament to the Lopezes who just wrote that crazy, awesome, delicious 47-second [song].” Anyway, we know you’ve been humming the song to yourself while reading this, and since we love giving the people what they want, enjoy the official video below: Read original story ‘Agatha All Along’ from ‘WandaVision’ Has Already Streamed Almost 2 Million Times on Spotify At TheWrap
