3 Malaysian artistes compete to be the best in Tiger Jams

Over the course of a three-week voting period and more than 100,000 votes, three of Malaysia's finest emerging artistes have been chosen to move on to the last leg of Tiger Jams, an epic jam session that celebrates great music from Asia!

The three selected local performers are rap-rock band Donamarie, Bornean singer-songwriter Rozella and "rojak" band Son of a Policeman (SOAP), and each of them have been paired with one acclaimed Asian act and an established visual artist to produce an original Tiger Jams track and music video.

The track will be a deciding factor to enable one of these bands to collaborate with a famous international act, and it has been decided that the international act will be CHVRCHES!

Each of the three finalist will also be receiving a cash prize of RM15,000.

"Music speaks the mind of the bands and we're glad to have witnessed their enthusiasm, heard their stories through their songs and observed their unwavering energy for pursuing their dream," Tiger Beer marketing manager Jessie Chuah said in a statement.

"We're also pleased that Asia took notice of Tiger Jams and is supportive of the local music scene, which brought to the forefront three of the country's finest emerging talents to have their chance at being on a bigger stage. We hope that music lovers continue to see potential in local and Asian musicians because with proper backing, they can be as good as or even better than international acts," she added.

Prior to the big finale event, the three bands will each be hosting a gig this coming August.
