2018 Golden Globes announces host


Golden Globes has announced its host for the awards ceremony next January.

24 Nov – Jimmy Fallon did a great job as a Golden Globes host this year but he is stepping off the stage to make way for another great comedian to pick up the mic.

Seth Meyers has officially been named the host for the 75th Golden Globes Awards, which will be taking place on 7 January 2018.

"The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards", said HFPA President Meher Tatna in a statement.


"With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognising the best in television and film at the Party of the Year."


Some of you might remember Meyers in his role as Professor Alan Kitzens in "Journey to the Center of the Earth".

This will not be Meyers' first awards emceeing stint as he has previously hosted the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 and the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Award in 2010.

The 12-year veteran of Saturday Night Live follows in the footsteps of previous hosts that include Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Ricky Gervais.

Nominees for the 2018 Golden Globes will be announced on 11 December 2017.
