"After pining after Prabal Gurung dresses for actual years, I decided to put a little away from every paycheck over six months and then plopped it down for this guy. It fits like a dream, is comfortable in a slinky, sexy way, and makes me feel like a total f*cking boss when I wear it. I get compliments every time I put it on and I know it's because it really makes me feel like a million bucks." - Amelia, 26

A breakup-inspired solo vacation

"A guy I was crazy about broke up with me, so three days later, I bought a trip to Cuba. Having to study the country and learn Spanish has given me something to obsess over that will lead to a new experience. I’m leaving at the end of the month and honestly am most excited about being intentionally disconnected from my phone. Salsa dancing, beaches, touring the caves in Viñales, and basically just having so many new and unfamiliar things around me will take my mind off everything.” - Alexandra, 27

A beer-making kit

"The best thing I’ve splurged on was a beer-making kit from Northern Brewer. I had done several internships at wineries but did not have the room to make wine at home. It's provided me an outlet for creative expression. My boyfriend and coworkers apparently loved the first batch I made, an Amber Ale - I'm now working on a Hefeweizen and a Milk Stout." - Nadine, 27

An stylish investment purse

"I don’t splurge on anything, but my purse broke while I was on a business trip in LA the other year, and I decided it was a sign to go to the Rebecca Minkoff store and treat myself to the $350 bag I had been eyeing for months. I purposefully bought a navy bag that was versatile for any season so that I use it all the time. It has a trendy look but also won’t be going out of style any time soon, which also was what drew me to it. Would rather have a $350 bag for five years than to keep buying trendy $100 bags every season." - Julianna, 25

Lasik eye surgery

"The best thing I ever splurged on was Lasik eye surgery. I finally decided to do it after a few of my former coworkers had gotten the procedure done and were so relieved with the outcome. Plus, I had been suffering from scratched eyes a lot lately - I was going to the doctor or urgent care every few months. It was such a pain.

"I ended up scheduling my procedure right before Christmas, so to help pay for it, all I asked from my family for Christmas was money. That covered about half the cost - the rest I was able to pay for with a payment plan. It's been such a life-changer ever since. Now, I'm no longer worried about swimming and losing a contact lens or going on vacation without having my glasses as a backup." - Lindsay, 30
