Last night, Tarek and Christina El Moussa returned for their first episode of Flip or Flop since their very public divorce. Christina called working together after the split "beyond awkward," and she even warned us that it might be a bit awkward to watch. Judging by the reactions on Twitter, she was right. People had a lot of thoughts about the premiere.

In episode one, titled "Flipping and Dating," the HGTV show dove right into the dicey topic of dating post-divorce. When Christina wanted to meet to look at a house, her ex-husband Tarek explained that he couldn't because he was about to go see somebody.

"OH MY GAH WHY DID THEY BEGIN THE NEW SEASON OF FLIP OR FLOP WITH THAT DATE BUSINESS!?" one fan tweeted. "I am cringing watching this. I feel so uncomfortable."

Throughout the episode, Christina and Tarek took turns sneaking in snide remarks about each other's appearances.

"I hope you're not going on another date after this," Christina told Tarek. "You're going to smell like this nasty house."

It all came to a head when Christina and Tarek finally blew up at each other-and a number of fans were unimpressed.

"If you want a great example of how to act like an adult when you divorce someone but still choose to work with them watch tonight's episode of #FliporFlop and do the exact opposite," one wrote.

Some viewers even complained directly to the network.

"@hgtv If I wanted to watch a bunch of drama I'd find something on MTV to watch," one tweeted. "This is ridiculous".

Meanwhile, others enjoyed watching the exes navigate their new working relationship, with some even commending the couple for "keeping it real."

"They are getting along better as far as decision making now than past seasons," one noted.

"Impressed they are keeping it real on #FlipOrFlop and argue on camera," said another. "A divorced couple working together cannot be easy."

And finally, a few eagle-eyed fans were distracted by something else: mice running around the house that looked more like pets than pests.

Now, the question is: Will the drama continue all season long, or did Tarek and Christina get it out of their system in episode one?
