Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is coming back for a reboot (again!) in January, 2025. This time, the revival (which you can learn more about here) is hosted by The Home Edit's Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. Ahead of the premiere, we caught up with Louisiana-based designer Arianne Bellizaire, who will work with the founders of the famed organizational website, alongside Philadelphia-based furniture designer Wendell Holland, and with support from homebuilder Taylor Morrison. The team's goal is to create life-changing, functional homes for families who give back to their communities across the country. Find out what motivated Bellizaire to join the show, where she finds inspiration, her paint color dos and don'ts, and more, below.

House Beautiful: What inspired you to join the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition revival?

Arianne Bellizaire: For me, design has always been about transformation—not just of spaces but of lives. Joining Extreme Makeover: Home Edition felt like the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for design with a larger purpose: creating homes that bring comfort, joy, and peace to families in need. Being part of a show that focuses on real impact and connection felt like coming home to what I love most about design: helping people feel truly seen, loved, and supported.

HB: Where do you turn for design inspiration?

AB: I draw a lot of inspiration from music, travel, art, fashion, and nature. And of course, I’m always inspired by the clients I work with.

HB: What design trend are you excited to see become widespread in 2025?

AB: I'm most excited about the trend of personalized design, where people are leaning into bold colors, unique details, and items that tell their stories rather than playing it safe.

HB: What would viewers be surprised to learn about you?

AB: I think viewers might be surprised to learn just how playful and fun I can be when I'm in my creative zone! Whether I'm singing along to music, cracking jokes with my team, or reimagining a space with wild ideas, creativity brings out my most carefree, joyful self. But beneath that playful energy is a deep sense of purpose. What I hope people truly see is how much I dial into the unspoken needs of the families we help. Designing a home is never just about creating a "pretty space." It’s about creating a sanctuary where people feel loved, supported, and truly at home. That's the heart of what I do.

HB: What's your favorite paint color?

AB: I love rich, deep, bold colors because they add so much drama to a space. I've used Benjamin Moore’s Gentleman's Gray in several projects, and it never disappoints. There is just the right amount of green in this navy blue to keep it warm and lively.

HB: Are there any paint colors you tend to stay away from?

AB: I tend to steer clear of bright yellows and oranges. While they can bring energy to a space, they don't align with the calm, timeless aesthetic I love to create.

HB: What's currently on your nightstand?

AB: A stack of books I'm reading, my favorite candle, and a framed photo of my family. I also keep a gratitude journal there. It's a habit that helps me reflect on the small, meaningful moments at the end of each day.

HB: What's your favorite candle scent?

AB: I love earthy, cozy scents like Diptyque's Feu de Bois. It has this woodsy warmth that makes any space feel inviting and peaceful.

HB: Is there anything you like to collect?

AB: I'm actually not a big collector of things—meaning there isn't a specific category of things that I keep my eye out for (antiques, fine art). I do like to make sure that I grab ahold of things I discover throughout the day or on my travels that I feel deep in my gut I would regret missing out on. This has happened to me with everything from a pair of heels to a limited edition handbag or a sculptural paperweight.

HB: What was the last item you purchased?

AB: I bought myself a David Yurman bangle as a birthday gift/show wrap gift. It's something I wear every day now to remind myself of what's possible when you dream big.

HB: Do you have a favorite vacation spot?

AB: I was fortunate to travel to Venice a few years ago, and I absolutely loved it. Talk about inspiration around every corner!

HB: What's your favorite comfort TV show?

AB: Can I be honest? I'm more likely to be curled up with a good book (currently reading the Fourth Wing series) than to watch TV, BUT now I'll definitely be tuned in on Thursday nights to every episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. You couldn't get more "feel-good" than that!
